The 2007 South China International Exhibition for Fire Prevention Equipment and Technology Opens in Guangzhou

     

    On the morning of November 15th, the 3rd South China International Exhibition for Fire Prevention Equipment and Technology was held at the Liuhua Complex, which was co-organized by the Fire Protection Bureau, Guangdong Provincial Public Security Department, the Hong Kong Fire Services Department and the Macau Fire Protection Bureau. The latest fire prevention equipment and technology exhibited at the Exhibition captured the visitors' attention.

    The only exhibition stand that needed looking up to at the site was the platform fire-truck, known as the "Asia's Highest". According to the exhibitor, the working height of this kind of platform fire-truck can reach up to 68 meters, which can be used for firefighting and rescue in up to 24-floor buildings. This is China's highest self made platform fire-truck and also the highest in Asia, which was successfully developed last year and was displayed for the first time in Guangdong Province.

    The platform fire-truck is mainly used for water supply at a high altitude, working aloft, emergency rescue and so on. With more and more skyscrapers emerging in the city, this kind of platform fire-trucks is playing an important role in firefighting in metropolises. Currently the world's highest platform fire-truck has an operational height of 90 meters.
